However, sometimes when you are in the elevator it would abruptly open at a wrong floor and just stay there…all concentration would be broken. The rumor is that British punker Sid Vicious ‘s ghost is forcing the unexpected stops despite repeated repairs…we’ll never know if he killed his girlfriend, Nancy, But over the years many people checked out his Room100, so that Stanley combined his room with another.

Virgil Thompson's Room, Chelsea Hotel, 2001 : The  Chelsea Hotel was built in 1883 as a unique oasis of individuality, acceptance and freedom as one of the first apartment houses with a cafeteria and a ballroom.

Front Door, Chelsea Hotel, 2012 : In May 2011 the hotel was sold to real estate developer Joseph Chetrit for US$80 million dollars. He closed the building to any new guests during renovations.
